OBTS is essentially for transport companies to handle seat reservations made by passengers. This system contains schedules of the transport companies, passenger records, reservations, class of service and fare tariffs.
Airlines were the first transport systems to dabble into the use of online reservation systems to enable passengers make reservations for seats online instead of coming to the Airport or offices to so. However, the OBTS can also be used by road transport companies to capture bookings made at bus terminal and also accept online bookings made by passengers.
The OBTS provides the following features
- Inventory Management: This contains all time schedules and service classes offered by Transport Company for which different prices and booking conditions apply.
- Online payment: Passengers can pay ahead for reservations made and obtain an E-ticket for the desired trip
- Internet based interface for customers to make reservations and payment for trips
Clients currently using this software are Associated Bus Company (ABC Transport) and Ifesinachi Transport Company. |
