The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is a professional body for bankers in Nigeria established in 1973. Its major responsibilities includes the determination of the standards of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to become members of the banking profession, conducting professional examinations leading to the award of certificates and ensuring the furtherance , maintenance and observation of ethical standards and professionalism among practitioners of the banking profession in Nigeria.
CIBN currently boasts of a membership of over Seventy Thousand (70,000) members and with a growing number of Bankers and Graduates from Tertiary Institutions seeking to be members of the Institute it becomes necessary to automate some of the activities of the Institute as it pertains to interaction with its members.

In 2002, Fleet Technologies developed a result checker system which enabled the Institute to publish its examination results over the Internet while enabling the members check their result through secure means over the Internet from their various locations without having to travel to any of the Institutes offices.

This freed the Institute of the crowd that occasioned the release of results allowing the staff of the institute focus on their primary responsibilities.
The success of the online result checking service resulted in a request from the Institute for an extension of the service to cover all areas of interactions between the Institute and its members. These include: Application for membership, Application for Exemption, Registration for Examination and payments of fees and annual subscriptions to the Institute. Payment is possible online through the use in Interswitch cards.
